Shot and edited on my iPhone 4 using Splice. If you have any suggestions for a better video editing app that is free or cheap, let me know. I hope to do this some more in the future, it’s fun to work with the limitations of the iPhone and see what is possible.
Produced this for my church’s online Christmas service this year. Shot on a Canon EOS Rebel t3i/600D, edited in Final Cut Pro. Audio is a bit rough in places; it was our first time shooting with this rig and things were a bit rushed. Learning experience for sure. I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out though.
Hey y’all, just a reminder about my new secondary Tumblr. I’m enjoying it quite a bit, but with only two followers I can’t help but feel it’s a bit of a waste.
This afternoon, I went on a walk. The first I’ve taken in quite a while. (This was provoked by feeling somewhat exceptionally flabby after borrowing my wife’s t-shirt to wear today, which fit uncomfortably and revealingly tight — but that’s a different story).
Anyway, on a whim as I walked out…
I don’t know how many of you actually follow this blog or really care about it, but I’ve got a couple of things for you:
1. My apologies for not posting regularly; I don’t think I was born with the blogging gene.
2. However, I have started a new little secondary Tumblr project called NewDayNewFrame. Nothing fancy, just an attempt to take more photos and expand my creative horizons a bit. I don’t promise greatness by any means. But I do invite you to check it out and give it a follow. This might mean I quite posting here for a while; although I will try to keep this blog somewhat active.
So…carry on. That is all.
Jake of August Burns Red live on Warped Tour
I hate to be that kid reblogging Warped Tour pics on Tumblr, especially considering this is my first post in quite a while, but…this shot is pretty sick.

Pretty rad pitch. I hope it gets funding. It’s like the old Mr. Rogers segments on how things are made…only cooler.
Never actually have been a huge fan of Paper Route for whatever reason, but this is pretty cool.
A few months ago we had the chance to host the band Paper Route in our studio. They came in for an afternoon session before filming a scene downtown Orlando for an upcoming movie. It was great hearing the band “unplugged” apart from all the production elements normally found in their music. The guys were amazing to work with and I love how the performance videos turned out. We featured them on this week’s podcast and this video is my favorite…a brand new song called Better Life.
…but I do like using Shark Week as a euphemism for “that time of the month.” (originally told to me by t-so circa 2008). Start using that. apologies to easily offendable women (but come on, that’s funny, shark week!)
I may have just found my new favorite euphemism.
